Fellowship NEWS
Sunday 12 June 1977

Minister: Steven Moore, 374 High Street, Motueka. Phone 634

Among the knick-knacks available at a certain store were colourful, circular plastic discs with the following words written on them, great for newly retired people:

THIS   IS   A   TUIT
At long last, we have sufficient quantity for you to have one of your own.
Guard it with your life!
These tuits are hard to come by -- especially the round ones.
For years you've been saying, "I'll do that as soon as I get a round tuit."
Now that you have a round tuit of your own, many things that you meant to do just may get done!
So get tuit!

NOTHING LIES OUTSIDE THE REACH OF PRAYER. EXCEPT THAT WHICH LIES OUTSIDE THE WILL OF GOD !

SOME SIMPLE STEPS TO REVOLUTIONIZE YOUR PRAYER LIFE

1.  Don't pretend with God.  Tell Him exactly what you think and feel.  If there is sin in your life, admit it honestly, just as it is.  Remember, HE KNOWS; but it will help you to be honest.

2.  Be natural.  Remember, as well as being your Lord and Master, He is also your Father and Friend.  The Bible does not tell us a particular set of words to say, but rather an attitude: one of reverence, thankfulness, adoration, praise and love.

3.  Pray specifically.  Make definite faith-sized requests.  Pray only for things which you can really believe God for.  When you have seen those prayers answered, take another larger, faith-sized "bite".  This is the way to help you grow, both in faith and in prayer.

4.  Pray always.  This sounds like an impossibility but it really means to always be in an attitude of prayer.
It means to never get into a place where you can't pray readily and easily.  If you have to "change gears" down inside, then you are in the wrong place with God.

5.  How about just thanking Him?  Too often our prayers are just request sessions!

6.  Don't rush through prayer.  Take time to be with God.

---------------------------------------------

The Word - with prayer - is mighty still
To break the hardest heart;
O give your faithful witness then,
And God will do His part !

OUR SPRING GROVE BRETHREN seek our prayer-support for their MINI-MISSION, (June 12 - 26).  Details of sessions are in "Church Notices" of last night's Evening Mail.

AMONG OUR PEOPLE . . . . .

A WARM WELCOME

to all visitors with us this week.  We hope that you were uplifted by the worship service this morning, were inspired by the teaching from God's Word, and felt the presence of God in the gathering together of His people.

BIBLE STUDY -
How is your own study going?
Do you need some help?  Then the Wednesday evening Bible Study is for you.  This week we begin a new book of the Bible, so the time is ripe for you to join us.  We will begin our new series by looking at one of the lesser known books.  Want to know what it is?  Well ... You be at Mrs. Allred's home at 7:30p.m. next Wednesday and you will find out !
