Who is the Invisible man?

6:30am - Prayer meeting at the church.
9:30am - Noah's Ark Play Group.
11:45am - Intercessory Prayer meeting.
( Prayer for schools and the nation etc. - All welcome - Tues. & Fri. )
7:30pm - Bible meeting for the Youth group at the Greaneys.
Wednesday:
7:30pm - Combined Home Groups at Kings.  6:30pm Pot luck BBQ tea
Includes the Whytes, Kings and Youth Groups and Sunday School staff.  Phone xxx xxxx for information.  Please bring a salad, dessert, own drinks and togs.
Thursday:
9:45am - Ladies Bible study at Merion O.'s - in recess for holidays; ph. for details xxx xxxx
7:00pm - Music practice at church for those who want to be involved in the music on Christmas Eve (Friday) and Sunday.
Friday:
9:45am - Noah's Ark Play Group in recess for the holidays.
11:45am - Intercessory Prayer meeting.

9:30am - Prayer for the service.
10:00am - Worship Service.
6:30pm - Prayer for the service.
7:00pm - Evening Service.

NEW YEAR'S EVE CELEBRATIONS: 9 Motueka Quay, 31st Dec., 8pm. Swimming, BBQ, fireworks, video, dance, food. (Maybe midnight Communion).


COMING EVENTS:
* Sunday School Break-up -- today 19th Dec. 10am
* Meet here tonight 19th December for an explosion of talent.  Our own church groups will be contributing to a presentation of the true meaning of Christmas.  Book tonight and ask your friends to attend. "CHRISTMAS CAKE SUPPER"
* Wednesday the 22nd Dec. Combined Home Groups at Kings. Pot luck meal/Swim etc.  This includes the Whytes, Kings and Youth Groups and the Sunday School staff.
* Christmas Eve Service, Saturday 24th Dec., 9pm
* Communion Service only on the 26th Dec., 10am, Fred King.
* New Year's Eve.  See out the old year of the 1900's and see in the new year of the 2000's.  Join together for song, food, dance, fireworks, video of the church building change-over, for fun and fellowship.  "Praise in the new year." At the Kings home, 9 Motueka Quay 8pm start. (Maybe a midnight communion time)  Indicate numbers attending on the sheet at the back table.

Prayer for:
* the smooth running of the Bethany Park Camp over the Christmas period and for Tom and Mary's son who is in Christchurch Hospital.
* S. Leppien who went to hospital last week.
* all of those who have not been well.
* M. Stuart and family over the loss of Myrtle's older sister.
* all those who are beginning their holidays, for a time of safety, rest and restoration.
* healing and comfort for Margaret and David H. and family during the loss of a brother-in-law.
* the services over the Christmas time, that the true meaning of Christmas will be a blessing to all.

Wanted:
* Small jars suitable for jam.  See Gweneth D. (ph. xxx xxxx).
* Last chance!  Items for the Food Bank, giving thought to that something different to make the parcel special for Christmas.  Gifts suitable for adults or children valued at approx. $5.00 and packets of biscuits or chocolate which are suitable for a Christmas treat could be included.
* Names of families from within the church or the community who are in need of this service at this time. (ph. xxx xxxx).
* To give away. What about for a Christmas gift?  A good home is required for Misty, our lovely grey cat who is 6 years old, and for Taffy, our 9 year old Corgi.  Taffy loves and relates well to children. ph. xxx xxxx.
* STAMPS, STAMPS, STAMPS.  Save your stamps.  They are a valuable asset for the Overseas Mission Society.  Put in the box in the foyer.  See Lawrie D. for further information.  (Cut paper approx. 1-2mm from the stamp to avoid damage.)

TEAR Fund Christmas Focus
Each year our church members are given the opportunity to give to TEAR Fund as our Christmas focus for giving.  Information and envelopes are on the back table and offerings may be placed in the plate on Christmas day with your regular envelope.

Old English CHRISTMAS PUDDING Recipe
From Dianne Tucker.  Making a family tradition!
1 tsp spice
1 cup shreddo suet
1 cup flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp B.P.
some peel and almonds
1 tsp almond essence
1 small bottle stout
2 carrots grated
6 eggs
2 tblsp golden syrup
1 cup raisins
1 cup sultanas
1 cup currants
1 cup breadcrumbs
milk to form a runny liquid

Put all ingredients into a large bowl, beat eggs before they are added.
Stand the mixture overnight... Add more milk if necessary.
Boil for 8 hours and another 2 hours the day to be used.
