Sunday 22 July 2001
Welcome to our Father's House.  We trust you find this a great time of sharing together around the Lord's Table and in His Word, and enjoying fellowship with the Saints.  If we can assist you today please make your request known to the door stewards or one of the Elders.  If you have no church home and you wish to consider this as: "the place of the planting of the Lord" then please see Fred King, our church co-ordinator.

From the Word: Get out of bed.
"Yes, be bold and strong!  Banish fear and doubt!  For remember, the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." -- Joshua 1:9
Don't you love the testimonies of people who beat the odds?  Shannon Lucid did.  She broke the world record for women in space; when she was only 13, she told her teacher she was going to be a rocket scientist.  The teacher laughed and said, "There's no such thing, and if there was - a woman couldn't be one anyway!"  Be careful who you listen to; if you want to march in the right direction, you'd better listen to the right drummer.
About 130 Americans die every year from falling out of bed.  Another one out of every 400 will be injured just lying there because the headboard collapsed on them, or the frame gave way.  The truth is, you're not even safe in bed, so you may as well get up and get going.  Reach for God's strength and do something!
Max Lucado says, "Instead of building a fire in your hearth, build one in your heart.  Follow God's impulses.  Adopt a child.  Move overseas.  Teach a class.  Change careers.  Run for office.  Make a difference.  Sure it isn't safe, but what is?"  Jesus said, "Whoever wants to save his life will lose it" -- Luke 9:24.
Reclaim the curiosity of your childhood.  Just because you're near the top of the hill doesn't mean you're past the peak.  Get up and get going, for God has things for you to do today!

Quiz
What is greater than God,
More evil than the devil,
The poor have it, the rich need it,
and if you eat it you will die?

The Lord gave you two ends -
one for sitting and one for thinking.
Your success depends on which one you use -
Heads you win; Tail you lose.
-- Gas Flame.

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
-- Psalm 27:1
