Sunday 16 December 2001
Welcome to our Father's House.  We trust you find this a great time of sharing together around the Lord's Table and in His Word, and enjoying fellowship with the Saints.  If we can assist you today please make your request known to the door stewards or one of the Elders.  If you have no church home and you wish to consider this as: "the place of the planting of the Lord" please see Fred King, our church co-ordinator.

From the Lord.
Jesus blesses the little children.

People were bringing their little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.  When Jesus saw this he was indignant.  He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  I tell you the truth.  Anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."  And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.
- Mark 10:13

He took a little child and had them stand among them.  Taking them in his arms he said to them, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me does not just welcome me but the one who sent me."
- Mark 9:38

MISSIONARY NEWS
* A donation of $200.00 was forwarded to Mission without Borders towards Christmas parcels to be handed out to needy children in Romania and other Eastern/European countries.
* A letter of appreciation was received from Sai, our Fijian friend who works with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) with street kids in Brazil.  A copy of his letter is available to anyone.  Have a look at the photos on the notice board.  The church is supporting Sai with $50.00 a month towards his living expenses.  Sai says how he appreciated the hospitality when he was in our area and he does miss all the good "Kiwi dishes" especially mashed potatoes.  However, he is doing well on rice and beans now!
* Today you will be handed information regarding the "TearFund Christmas Appeal."  Please read the information carefully and prayerfully.  This year's money goes to the Philippines for projects to help people to help themselves.  Please return the envelopes on Sunday or at our Christmas Eve service.

Prayer Points
Pray for the victim's families of the terrorist attacks in the U.S.  Pray for Moslems everywhere that they may repent of their sins and believe the Lord Jesus Christ Who alone can save them from eternal damnation.  Pray that missionaries will be safe in Islamic countries and will still have opportunities to preach the Gospel!  Pray that Christians will stop praying with Moslems and start praying FOR them!

The words of President Abraham Lincoln written on March 30, 1863:

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope, that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon, and to recognise the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures, and proven by all history, that these nations only are blessed who (declare) God is the Lord."

The FOOD BANK needs a stock up
of items for the Christmas demand.  If you are thinking of giving to the Food Bank over the next few days, they will be delighted to receive your deposits of Christmas food, drinks, novelties and staple items etc.
A basket will be at the back of the church for these items.  Thank you.
