Sunday 8 June 2014
Welcome along to our 10am and 7pm services at 374 High Street, Motueka.

We pray you experience the love and joy only Jesus Christ can bring.
Pastor Shane and Kathryn Murray

Good morning, church!

"Salvation costs you nothing, but discipleship will cost you EVERYTHING.  Salvation occurs in a moment; discipleship takes a lifetime.  Salvation is something God does for you; discipleship is something you do with God." - Mark Driscoll

Over the past term God has been speaking to me directly on the topic of discipleship and what it means to be a disciple.  To be a disciple means to lay down MY life, take up MY cross - a symbol of sacrifice and persecution to come - and follow HIM.  When Jesus shared this with his disciples, the disciples fully understood that in following Jesus it meant a true commitment, the risk of death and no turning back.  This does not change for us today.  Jesus requires the same heart, passion and commitment from you and me!  In following Jesus, we will come up against trials, tribulation and persecution but we have Jesus our Rock that we can cling to in those times.

My prayer this morning is that His Spirit would not only challenge us in our current position but also encourage and remind us to NOT GIVE UP!

Blessings,
Carissa Armstrong.
P.S.  Encounter Service is here tonight at 7pm.  All welcome.
